Dr Ronald Aquilina has, since 1997, assisted a wide range of clients on assignments encompassing several aspects of civil and commercial law.
Ronald’s main area of practice is property law, with particular emphasis on sale and acquisition of immovable property and going concerns, vetting of title, bank financing and security, construction contracts and lease agreements. Throughout his professional career, he has provided consultancy to buyers, sellers, developers, construction companies, turn-key contractors, landlords, tenants and estate agents on various major projects, including complex litigation.
In the field of public procurement law, Ronald has also advised tenderers on a number of major public procurement tenders and has successfully represented local and foreign tenderers before the Public Contracts Review Board and the Court of Appeal and in arbitration proceedings.
Ronald read law at the University of Malta with a doctoral thesis focusing on Articles of Association and Shareholder’s Agreements. He was also conferred with a Masters’ Degree in law by the International Maritime Law Institute, with a dissertation focusing on ‘Seaworthiness with a Maltese perspective’.
He has been admitted to the Maltese Bar in 1998 and is a member of the Malta Chamber of Advocates.
